For over fifteen years our firm has successfully represented landowners and land trusts in the area of land conservation including representation in land protection transactions such as conservation restriction (easement) donations, bargain sales, and purchases. We have represented individuals in their gift and/or sale of property for conservation purposes by drafting and negotiating conservation restrictions (easements) which qualify for the federal income tax charitable deduction and are accepted by the land trust. Our representation of individual landowners is coordinated with the family’s overall estate plan. We have represented land trusts by reviewing and negotiating their receipt of conservation restrictions (easements) and gifts in fee ensuring that they comply with the land trust’s mission.
